The Ethical Skeptic

Challenging Agency of Pseudo-Skepticism & Cultivated Ignorance

The Urgent Need to Reform the ABCD Seed Cartel Science Around Glyphosate

The Largest Single Health Damaging Event in American History

and where were our ‘skeptics’ for the last 24 years while this occurred? Chasing ghosts, Bigfoot and UFO hunters…

glyphoseatIt has always been more than simply interesting that our 1995-genesis epidemics of gluten sensitivity and IBS just mysteriously happened to coincide with our introduction of glyphosate into 95+% of the wheat, corn, soy and canola food supply. But if that were the only two flash-skyrocketing maladies the American public has suffered since 1995 then my curiosity might not have been piqued. And let’s be clear, Americans are the heaviest consumers of glyphosate, and are for the most part, the ones suffering most from these new top 10 prescribed-for epidemic maladies. Parsimony under an ethical governance of science, would dictate plurality due to observation, relationship and risk, under the scientific method. However, it has taken the sickening of our entire nation to alert us to this horrendous act.

Why? Because of corrupt oligarch influence and fake skepticism, plain and simple. The act of blocking or not skeptically researching the impact of glyphosate on our collective intestinal health since 1995 – is unconscionable pseudoscience. This should be pursued by a class action lawsuit – god knows that my family has suffered enough from this malfeasance and incompetence.  Your claims that we are anti-science be damned. On the contrary, science is stepping back in and taking control back from this case study in corruption.

There are six compelling reasons why the science performed to date on Glyphosate is woefully insufficient, and re-disposition by the EPA, through complete science performed by neutral third parties regarding Glyphosate and its enabling GMO seed monopoly, should be once again evaluated.  The scientific method does not dictate that preliminary conclusions, once published, can never again be examined just because SSkeptics declare otherwise.  In fact, Ethical Skepticism demands that we re-examine the role of this harmful technology in American diets and in overall human and ecological health.

Glyphosate

/ N-(phosphonomethyl) glycine / : Herbicide, assigned EPA Human Toxicity Category III and WHO Toxicity Group 2A ‘probably carcinogenic to humans.’ Toxicity enabled to varying levels in different species, by acting as a water soluble analog of the protein glycine, which deleteriously interferes with the synthesis of the aromatic amino acids phenylalanine, tyrosine and tryptophan; effectively killing bacteria and plants which depend upon the EPSP Synthase pathway. A dependency based technology utilized by Monsanto to establish a strategically planned seed sourcing monopoly. This an outcome of Glyphosate’s complimentary relationship with patented GMO seed modifications, enforced for use throughout a compliant ABCD Seed Cartel,‡ regarding Glyphosate tolerance.

We conclude that: (1) GBHs are the most heavily applied herbicide in the world and usage continues to rise; (2) Worldwide, GBHs often contaminate drinking water sources, precipitation, and air, especially in agricultural regions; (3) The half-life of glyphosate in water and soil is longer than previously recognized; (4) Glyphosate and its metabolites are widely present in the global soybean supply; (5) Human exposures to GBHs are rising; (6) Glyphosate is now authoritatively classified as a probable human carcinogen; (7) Regulatory estimates of tolerable daily intakes for glyphosate in the United States and European Union are based on outdated science.

Genetically engineered crops, glyphosate and the deterioration of health in the United States of America

Journal of Organic Systems, 9(2), 2014; ISSN 1177-4258

Abstract

A huge increase in the incidence and prevalence of chronic diseases has been reported in the United States (US) over the last 20 years. Similar increases have been seen globally. The herbicide glyphosate was introduced in 1974 and its use is accelerating with the advent of herbicide-tolerant genetically engineered (GE) crops. Evidence is mounting that glyphosate interferes with many metabolic processes in plants and animals and glyphosate residues have been detected in both. Glyphosate disrupts the endocrine system and the balance of gut bacteria, it damages DNA and is a driver of mutations that lead to cancer. In the present study, US government databases were searched for GE crop data, glyphosate application data and disease epidemiological data. Correlation analyses were then performed on a total of 22 diseases in these time-series data sets.

The Pearson correlation coefficients are highly significant (< 10-5) between glyphosate applications and hypertension (R = 0.923), stroke (R = 0.925), diabetes prevalence (R=0.971), diabetes incidence (R= 0.935), obesity (R = 0.962), lipoprotein metabolism disorder (R = 0.973), Alzheimer’s (R = 0.917), senile dementia (R = 0.994), Parkinson’s (R=0.875), multiple sclerosis (R=0.828), autism (R= 0.989), inflammatory bowel disease (R = 0.938), intestinal infections (R = 0.974), end stage renal disease (R = 0.975), acute kidney failure (R=0.978), cancers of the thyroid (R = 0.988), liver (R = 0.960), bladder (R = 0.981), pancreas (R = 0.918), kidney (R = 0.973) and myeloid leukaemia (R = 0.878).

The Pearson correlation coefficients are highly significant (< 10-4) between the percentage of GE corn and soy planted in the US and hypertension (R = 0.961), stroke (R = 0.983), diabetes prevalence (R =0.983), diabetes incidence (R = 0.955), obesity (R= 0.962), lipoprotein metabolism disorder (R =0.955), Alzheimer’s (R = 0.937), Parkinson’s (R = 0.952), multiple sclerosis (R = 0.876), hepatitis C (R= 0.946), end stage renal disease (R = 0.958), acute kidney failure (R = 0.967), cancers of the thyroid (R = 0.938), liver (R = 0.911), bladder (R = 0.945), pancreas (R = 0.841), kidney (R = 0.940) and myeloid leukaemia (R = 0.889). The significance and strength of the correlations show that the effects of glyphosate and GE crops on human health should be further investigated.

Abstract

The use of glyphosate modifies the environment which stresses the living microorganisms. The aim of the present study was to determine the real impact of glyphosate on potential pathogens and beneficial members of poultry microbiota in vitro. The presented results evidence that the highly pathogenic bacteria as Salmonella Entritidis, Salmonella Gallinarum, Salmonella Typhimurium, Clostridium perfringens and Clostridium botulinum are highly resistant to glyphosate. However, most of beneficial bacteria as Enterococcus faecalis, Enterococcus faecium, Bacillus badius, Bifidobacterium adolescentis and Lactobacillus spp. were found to be moderate to highly susceptible. Also Campylobacter spp. were found to be susceptible to glyphosate. A reduction of beneficial bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract microbiota by ingestion of glyphosate could disturb the normal gut bacterial community. Also, the toxicity of glyphosate to the most prevalent Enterococcus spp. could be a significant predisposing factor that is associated with the increase in C. botulinum-mediated diseases by suppressing the antagonistic effect of these bacteria on clostridia.

probased glyphosate drunk by each american each year - CopyGlyphosate interferes with :

Intestinal Dendritic Cell EPSP Synthase, effectively killing those critical immune system messenger cells as part of glyphosate’s well established EPSPS microbicide effectiveness. This renders the gut/immune system unable to communicate microbial tolerance to the innate and adaptive immune systems; effectively triggering celiac disease-like symptoms in humans, including nausea, diarrhea, skin disorders, macrocytic anemia, b-vitamin depletion, depression, IBS, IBD, rosacea and several other longer term chronic illnesses.

Phenylalanine – Elevates the mood, ensures good function of the autonomous and central nervous system (breathing, sleeping, calmness), essential for memory and learning and regulates the appetite by causing excess hunger until this minor protein is fulfilled. Otherwise one short of phenylalanine will overeat in order to attain minor proteins needed.

Tyrosine – It is a building block for several important neurotransmitters, including epinephrine, norepinephrine, serotonin, and dopamine. Neurotransmitters help nerve cells communicate and influence mood. Tyrosine also helps produce melanin (the pigment responsible for hair and skin color) and helps in the function of organs responsible for making and regulating hormones, including the adrenal, thyroid, and pituitary glands.

Tryptophan – The body uses tryptophan to help in the uptake of niacin (Vitamin B3 – lower cholesterol and triglycerides (types of fat) in the blood) and serotonin. Serotonin is thought to produce healthy sleep and a stable mood.

absorbed glyphosate is not excreted in urineGlycine – Essential for a healthy, normally functioning digestive system. It helps regulate the synthesis of the bile acid used to digest fats. Helps establish the mucosa barrier which blocks toxins from crossing the intestinal boundary – reduces the amount of auto-immune triggers in the blood.

Disruption of Kidney and Liver mRNA splicing and small nucleolar RNA – were mostly upregulated, suggesting disruption of normal spliceosome activity. Electron microscopic analysis of hepatocytes confirmed nucleolar structural disruption.

Disruption of Genes Controlling Chromatin Structure – Genes (especially histone-lysine N-methyltransferases) were mostly upregulated in Kidney and Liver measures.

Disruption of Genes Related to Respiratory Chain Complex I and the Tricarboxylic Acid Cycle – Pathway analysis suggests a modulation of the mTOR and phosphatidylinositol signalling pathways. Gene disturbances associated with the chronic administration of ultra-low dose Roundup reflect a liver and kidney lipotoxic condition and increased cellular growth that may be linked with regeneration in response to toxic effects causing damage to tissues.

Collectively – the interference with these proteins, DNA functions and elimination of vital gut flora causes in humans:

  • Loss of well being and up mood – creates anxiety
  • Endocrine function loss (Hypo-thyroid, Hypo-pituitary, Adrenal-Thyroid-Pituitary Axis)
  • Digestive screening loss and Auto-Immune flareups
  • Loss of protein synthesis in muscles
  • Loss of B vitamin uptake – especially in low-methylation genetic profile individuals
  • Higher triglycerides and cholesterol, liver stress
  • Chronic inflammatory diseases
  • Chronic digestive tract diseases
  • Liver pathology and morphology changes
  • Kidney pathology and morphology changes
  • Dysbiosis
  • IBS/IrBD
  • Disruption of cell’s ability to break down and burn sugars (diabetes)

pseudoscienc-isIn the instances of the third party labs which completed studies, subsequently routed through Monsanto to the EPA, a glance at LinkedIn and Moody’s shows that several of these companies were staffed by ex Monsanto and Syngenta employees, all in the St. Louis and Columbia, Missouri local area, or were small or one man or short lived businesses, operating around the period of the study. Nor did these firms continue their research after the EPA approval. A curious set of actions given that now human and higher order mammal and prodigious field data are available, which could improve their confidence interval risk profiles to an impeccable level of integrity. Yet they just ceased study altogether. This brings their third party objectivity, and their role as scientists, into essential question.

3.  The sample sizes of observational data for all coincident maladies is much more easily accessible/collectible today. As well, Monsanto coordinated the release of studies, patents and EPA approvals as part of a liability risk mitigation strategy regarding these maladies, along with its connected seed sourcing monopoly business strategy

Monsanto Strategy wth GlyphosateThe height of dishonestyAs you can see from the above graphic, the amount of human data available with which to truly assess the safety of Glyphosate, is on the order of 30,000 times as large as it was in the 1986 – 1991 timeframe in which the Approval studies were conducted.  In addition, the littany of condemning, or alarm raising studies continues to proliferate AFTER the Approval in 1991 by the EPA. See the listing below.

What Monsanto has accomplished here is brilliant strategy.  They planned the timed arrival of the Glyphosate Resistant Genome Abstracts onto the market commensurate with the expiration of their Glyphosate patents.  This allowed their domain of Glyphosate to be liability umbrella covered by the former EPA guidance on the herbicide/toxicant/biocide, while the open domain market use of Glyphosate now will be administered under the newer understandings of toxicity which have been discovered since Approval by the EPA.  In this way, Monsanto dodges the liability on the negative health effects of Glyphosate, endures the ramp up period for the growth of business from a gateway patent, and secures ultimate risk-free profitability through a complimentary and solely dependent technology: Glyphosate resistance through patented GM seed.

A brilliantly executed strategy.

Toxicology Studies Executed AFTER FDA Approval and Glyphosate Enabling GMO Maps were Abstracted by Monsanto

Please note that after the EPA approval in 1991, despite the prodigious amount of new contra indicative data since on HUMANS and higher order mammals, Monsanto ceased critical safety-oriented clinical studies of Glyphosate altogether. They left it to the rest of the world to perform lifecycle and safety-diligence science through a nascent sufficient level of observational and intelligence base of data.  Knowing that these opponents would have a ‘King of the Hill’ battle against bureaucracy, collusion, corruption and false skeptics, Monsanto strategically planned to sit back and do nothing thereafter. Notice that not even one study since, has been completed by Monsanto or their shill third party labs which underpinned the 1991 EPA approval effort.

To presume that you know the impetus behind this alarming statistic, as a means to squelch study, not stimulate it – is pseudoscience. The advocate producing this comparative on the right, indexing the coincidence between GM Food technologies and the rate of increase in diabetes, is petitioning for research – not providing excuse to block research – so he or she is actually conducting work in accordance with the scientific method.

But the bad news is that diabetes apparently is a 2 year lag sensitive malady induced from environmental factors, apparently factors which appeared in the American diet around 1995. But cancer on the other hand is more of a 15 to 40 year lag statistic as we have seen from smoking data and its impacts on stomach, bladder, esophageal and lung cancer data. Accordingly we should see a curve building now, stemming from the 1995 introduction of the first broad scale glyphosate resistant crops in 1995. Indeed, when we examine pancreatic cancer, we see exactly what might be expected; in fact, a terrifying picture.

Pancreatic Cancer Increase GraphNot only are we experiencing a pandemic rate of diabetes, but pancreatic cancer, once rare, has now skyrocketed to become the fourth leading cause of cancer death in the United States. The United States not only leads the world in rates of diabetes, but in rates and deaths of pancreatic cancer as well. We cannot continue to blame these observations on super sized meals, in absence of having really conducted any research. A counter claim cannot be tendered in a pluralistic argument, without evidence. According to the National Cancer Institute, in 2014, over 46,400 people will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer – this is up 114% since the 2012 GLOBOCAN North American measured rate, which was already 18% higher than the rest of the planet on average. ¹ ³

US Pancreatic Cancer Case Incidence 2012   21,713
US Pancreatic Cancer Case Incidence 2014   46,400

N American Avg Pancreatic Cancer Incidence   2.6%
World Avg Pancreatic Cancer Incidence   2.2%

And no, arch cynic Steven Novella cannot blame these stats on ‘an increase in focus on and diagnosis of’ since 80+% of these victims die of this cancer and usually in about a little over a year on average. A study leader Dr. Peter Storz, a cancer biologist at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL, who – with colleagues – describes their findings in the journal Cancer Discovery, says: ²

Our study shows a “direct link between Kras mutations and the inflammatory environment that drive the initiation of pancreatic cancer.”

It is clear from the post 1991 evidence and studies cited in section 3 above, that pancreatic inflammatory impacts were a principal observed element inside the observed set of effects of glyphosate on higher order mammals. The criminal stupidity displayed on the part of our arch SSkeptics, seeks to BLOCK, yes BLOCK the science which could prove matters such as the impact of this food additive, glyphosate, on our public health.

5.  Glyphosate is not optional. You can’t wash Glyphosate off, and it is contained in 90% of the bio-available foods of each major US Consumer Food category.

rosacea obesity and endocrine collapseOne cannot avoid Glyphosate except through an enormous amount of diligent research and through a highly restrictive diet. The products do not inform their victims of the incumbent potential dangers documented since 1991. Rosacea, Obesity from Endocrine Collapse and the requisite Auto-Immune Disruption, are all a concern among Americans today. I was able to alleviate these symptoms by elimination of Glyphosate related foods. Elimination of corn, wheat, soy, canola dairy and alfalfa is not an accomplishment which the vast majority of Americans can achieve.  The foods are not labelled such that they can, even if they wanted. 6.  The Public is asking that the science be completed/updated. They would like to be informed so they can make choices. This is their right.

A profile in sufferingSignificant portions of the scientifically and medically minded, as well as the professional population of our country are standing up and raising concerns over what they are observing in their children. No, the rise in obesity, diabetes, thyroid disease and other maladies cannot be explained by calories and exercise. No, you cannot dissuade ethical questions by charades of ‘critical’ or ‘skeptical’ thinking.

Yes, there is a growing fire. The fire is the observed inflammation in our bodies, skyrocketing since 1995, along with the incumbent increase in Endocrine-Immune Disruption. Rome is burning.  It is our national health, security and prosperity. All placed in danger while we fiddle with a

  • 1.2% increase in the crop price (6 cents a bushel net on sale),
  • 7.5% increase in yield and
  • savings of 2 cents a bushel on cost of production.†

As many others have expressed, let me offer up a resounding ‘yawn’ to this level of productivity and yield gain.   Post harvest perishment rates, especially in famine stricken areas of the globe are well in excess of 40%.  I work supporting nine of these nations, and trust me, yield is not the issue they face. Post harvest perishment is where the danger of famine resides, not in theoretical hectare ‘yields.’

I attended a symphony with an oncologist and her husband recently and the subject of autoimmune disease and diet came up.  She was a cancer survivor herself at age 29! This is what she related to me:

“I could never say this on the record in my profession, but the incident of previously rare cancers no longer being that rare, along with a rise in the ‘old age’ associated cancers occurring in those my age, is dramatic.  Whatever it is has occurred in the last 12 years because the stats are skyrocketing. It is obviously something environmental, but further, I think it is diet related.”

~ 29 Year Old Breast Cancer Survivor and Oncologist

The Michael Shermer’s of the world think that your suffering, your food sensitivities, your intestinal dysfunction, facial sores, cancers, anxiety, IBS, and endocrine maladies – ARE ALL A FICTIONAL COMEDY – they mock you in your suffering.

michael shermers of the world think your suffering is fictional comedyWe cannot continue to sacrifice our bodies for this fairy tale of how famine works – along with Social Skeptic cluelessness and arrogance concerning the suffering of everyday people. This yield and productivity result is solely intended to be employed in predatory market dynamics, masquerading as a dilettante understanding of famine mercy. Parallel to much of American economics, we are using predatory pricing, efficiencies and sourcing cartels (seed sourcing in this case, emulating China) in order to put small and medium sized competitors out of business, to the benefit of social oligopolies. These tactics are NOT mechanisms of capital economies, rather socialist economies. The measurable rise of royalty and elite elicits indication as to what is occurring in our agri-foods industry.  Socialism always bears a royalty class, hidden or visible.

Now it is up to activists like me, who were able to improve their health and reverse these diseases by eliminating specific foods (wheat, dairy, corn, canola oil, soy, cottonseed oil, alfalfa), who must petition scientists we work with and know, to start considering the idea that we must begin to conduct science on the safety and health impacts of the food we are consuming. Believe it or not, science that has been obstructed by the very organization who’s job it should have been to protect us in the first place.

Plurality has been established on this issue:  Our food is in question – Glyphosate is in question – We must begin the actual third party, skeptical science.

Hell Hath No Punishment Like Watching Your Children Suffer

They say that Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Well forget eternal punishment and judgment for sins. The most dastardly, punishing and cruel act in the universe is being committed right before our very eyes and upon our very own children. Nothing in this world ever will or can be more despair inducing than watching ALL your children suffer from health disruption at the hands of an immoral and unaccountable agri-food industry.

In my family and in two families to either side of us, seven children grew up together with active healthy lives since age 2.  Now with 6 of them in college, each of them is undergoing extreme suffering from Endocrine-Immune Disruption. Each one started showing symptoms in their sophomore to senior years in high school. Long an influence in all their lives, encouraging these children to seek STEM careers, they have each come to me to ask “Why? I live a healthy life, just as you do Mr. A. And I have this horrible disease now, which I have never heard of before. I workout, I eat pretty well.  Why do I have ___________ ? I thought that only older people got this.” I do not have a straight answer for them, except to say:

Watch What Foods You Are Eating

A Profile of Seven Active Healthy Children – Now Suffering from Endocrine-Immune Disruption (EID)

When Our Children Suffer2They say that Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Well set aside gender biases, eternal punishment and judgement for sins. Nothing in this world ever will or can be more despair inducing than watching ALL your children suffer from health disruption at the hands of an immoral and unaccountable agri-food industry.  An industry protected from being held to account by none other than the oppressive and fear-control operative Social Skepticism Cabal.  Endocrine-Immune Disruption (EID) diseases are skyrocketing out of control,¹ yet Monsanto cluelessly spends $27 million in just the early part of this year, campaigning to keep the public in the dark as to GM content of their food. This is not a statement of irrational propaganda, rather a pragmatic fact.² This money could have been better spent examining the background behind skyrocketing EID related disease in our young people.

There Exists a Problem with Our Food – And No, Exercising More Will Not Fix This

Plurality has been established on this issue:  Our food is in question – We must begin the science. The statistics I show in the chart to the right are alarming and ludicrous. Lupus at age 21? 3 cases of diabetes at age 21? And these are not an instance of ‘increased awareness and diagnosis’ – as these kids, as you can see below, are suffering. Each of these seven children, whom I have advised and loved over the last 19 years, suffers enormously from diseases which only 15 years ago were confined to older adults. These children have eaten healthy diets, never habitually overeaten, stayed active lifelong, and each have had weight within reason.  Each began their series of adult maladies around their sophomore to senior years in high school, with no incumbent increase in caloric consumption, and commensurate with adoption of sports activities. The incidents include

OCKHAM’S RAZOR PLURALITY HAS BEEN DRAMATICALLY SURPASSED:  THIS IS NOT NORMAL – NOR IS EXCUSE ACCEPTABLE

diabetes and glphsateI am not sure that we can wait to finally find out what it is we must to do to convince the oppressive Social Skepticism movement to step aside and allow real actual science to proceed. To continue to actively ignore this set of maladies, endocrine, inflammation and auto-immune in nature, is the height of malicious incompetence.  And remember, one principal goal of the Social Skepticism cabal is the Cultivation of Ignorance, the false premise that you must bring final and conclusive proof at the beginning of the scientific method; along with the commensurate manipulation of the conscience of science to support oligarch cronies. This constituting just one technique inside the variety of ways to cultivate ignorance through manipulation of the scientific method. The graphic to the right is posted, courtesy of Farm Wars (http://farmwars.info/?p=11543) and demonstrates the dramatic growth in diabetes incident upon the US population underway. No, this is not simply because the population is aging. Our children are inheriting these diseases on a regular basis now.

And the criminal stupidity displayed on the part of our arch SSkeptics, seeks to BLOCK, yes BLOCK the science which could prove matters such as this.

Is This Science? and The MiHoDeAL Appeal to Skepticism

In a word, yes.  Actually, this is science. It is the first step in the scientific method, Observation.  Next comes Data Aggregation and Intelligence, then Necessity, then Construct Formulation and a petition for plurality under Ockham’s Razor.  So yes, don’t let a Social Skeptic try to tell you that what you are doing, expressing your observation in your children or in your school or your neighborhood or your personal results from a diet change, is not science.  It is.

They will want to prohibit the second step, Data Aggregation and Intelligence, at all costs. That includes threatening, slandering or libeling you, your employer, your children and your friends. So be very cautious with the broader group of SSkeptics. The visible ones are typically people of excellent character; their highly pep-rallied sycophants however, are another story altogether.

In a falsification situation, where extant data can falsify the ‘science’ that our food is acceptably safe, a MiHoDeAL claim cannot be asserted by an opponent without a sufficiently robust array of predictive evidence. That means, that SSkeptics, like the ones cited below issuing MiHoDeAL claims, cannot make or imply a claim to knowledge that all case examples are Misidentifications, Hoaxes, Delusions, Anecdotes, Lies (MiHoDeAL) without sufficient evidence to surpass reasonable epoché towards such a claim. This is the litmus test of plurality under Ockham’s Razor.  A MiHoDeAL claim most often involves a false Appeal to Skepticism, and more specifically most often constitutes a Truzzi Fallacy.

What Social Skeptics (as usual) are doing is not science. When a fake SSkeptic issues a claim to knowledge, especially when sneaking in a MiHoDeAL claim, ask them what research they have published for peer review, what groundbreaking discovery they or their teams (being part of a team is certainly valid) came up with on their own which changed their industry, what patents they have filed, type, disclosures, provisional basis, claims issued, or what significant original thought they have personally produced to benefit mankind.  If they cannot cite things in this regard, they are more than likely, simply a noisy cynic.

SSkeptc Propaganda Actively and Immorally Blocks the Study of Problems with Our Food

The growing list of select propaganda from the Cabal of oppressive and ill intended Social Skepticism:

Food skeptics are the same as climate skepticshttp://www.slate.com/articles/health_and_science/science/2012/0/are_gmo_foods_safe_opponents_are_skewing_the_science_to_scare_people_.html

GM Foods are safe, we don’t need science when so many people declared it to be so, long agohttp://skeptics.stackexchange.com/questions/2215/is-genetically-modified-food-safe-to-consume

Food sensitivities are a fad for the gulliblehttp://www.skepticforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=9782

While 30% of the population believes that they have a food allergy, the actual prevalence is about 5%.http://skepticwars.blogspot.com/2013/09/food-allergies-facts-myths-and.html

rome burnsSSkeptics habitually spin the myth that anyone who expresses a sensitivity to a food, has claimed an “allergy” to that food – then equivocate with the strawman that food allergies only exist in “5%” of the population. This is a sleight-of-hand approach to the discussion. Do not let them apply this trick, as it appears in just about every blog or article constructed by lazy SSkeptics. You will find this same statement quoted over and over without recitation or checking. See http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org/food-allergies-facts-myths-and-pseudoscience/ which cites a source which does not even say this; rather says “Food allergy affects more than 1% to 2% but less than 10% of the population.” Not “5%” as that figure is simply originates from one SSkeptic copying another SSkeptic’s article so as to rush to publishing.³

This statement is also FALSE.³ In addition the study says “There is heightened interest in food allergies but no clear consensus exists regarding the prevalence or most effective diagnostic and management approaches to food allergies.” In other words, there is not agreement as to how to diagnose them, nor treat them, not to mention ‘their prevalence.’ A very key point, which is purposely skipped by fake skeptics. If you are a skeptic doctor, well then no one really has an allergy.  As well the study says “Elimination diets are the mainstay of therapy but have been rarely studied.“³ Rarely studied = lack of ANY research, and to therefore issue conclusions on such a basis – for example even and especially the statement “There is no evidence for…” is a FALSE statement under the scientific method.

Rarely Studied. Quoting fatalistic dispositions about a topic which has been “rarely studied” is …pseudoscience.

An obese friend of mine commented on how well his new diet was going, as he absentmindedly devoured an entire low-carb cheesecake while happily engaged in his sedentary pastime.” Steven Novella, The Skeptic’s Diet January 2005 (updated August 2010), http://www.theness.com/index.php/the-skeptics-diet/.

Social Skeptics, like Steven Novella, believe with religious and sophomoric scientific fervency that our maladies are simply caused by overeating and lethargy. Those of us who have tested this idea with their lives, know this tautology to be false. Weight gain is an incidental effect of Endocrine-Immune Disruption. You can run for miles each day and starve yourself within a certain caloric range, and if you have suffered diabetes, thyroid damage, or pituitary damage from Hashimoto Antibodies, nothing short of starvation and extreme continuous exercise is going to cause you to lose weight. And even if you do, you are not going to live any sort of quality of life, or be healthy in regard any semblance of reason. Those of us who actually TEST the ideas, are disciplined, do science, and OBSERVE the lives of those around us, know that people like Steven Novella are pretenders. Spouting the propaganda. Totally Clueless. Even Steven’s own community is growing skeptical of calories in/calories out views of weight (http://www.skeptic.com/past-lectures/why-we-get-fat/). But Steven HAS to say something based on denial. It is part of Margold’s Law.

‘This is not a food issue, it is YOUR fault.’ Blame the victim, #1 strategy of an ill minded person – protecting those who fund their sponsor institutions.

I got a message for the proponents of the Paleolithic Diet: don’t stop with the food.  It’s time for some real hunter-gatherer action.  Go out in your loincloth and live in a cave. … The ideas behind this diet are still moronic.” The Gotham Skeptic, Paleolithic Nonsense The Quixotic Man, January 28, 2010.

This is just an exercise in anger employed in lieu of acumen, and ill informed ignorance. This clueless dogmatist has never actually done any analysis of health and diet in a foreign country, as I have over 10 times for various governments. American diseases come with American foods, this is clear. Our wheat, dairy, corn, soy, canola. To dogmatic SSkeptics, any attempt to reduce the intake of their sponsor foods: wheat, dairy, soy, corn, or canola constitutes an act of stupidity. Of course they have never tried such a diet themselves. Not one time have I observed a so called skeptic even TRY the diet they decry. They do not have children who are suffering, and for whom your only effective way of mitigating the symptoms, baffling their doctors, is to eliminate these food groups. They are arrogant clueless pawns. Useless noise uttered by persons who are desperately trying to gain the credibility of a scientist, without putting in the work.

Well I have news for the fake skeptics, mom’s and dad’s are doing an end run on your so called ‘science.’ Yes, they are going to makes mistakes along the way. But that is not a rationale in support of doing nothing. They are spreading the message amongst their peers, they are taking the observation, gathering the intelligence, insisting on necessity, formulating the constructs and doing the testing. They are petitioning the doctors, and confronting the food and pharmaceutical industries, writing the books – skipping the old guard peers and going right to the science, themselves.

They are doing the science. You are not.

You stand arrogant, disdainful and idle while Rome burns, our children suffer. I have no time for you.

Endocrine-Immune-Biome Disruption and the Exorbitant Cost of Social Skepticism Induced Bliss

Fallout Families – The Price Big Agra was Willing to Pay for Profits – Unfortunately, we Underestimated the Price
In 1968 when I was born, not one person in my extended family had an endocrine or autoimmune disease, regardless of the ages under consideration.  Now fully 67% of my family suffers from a severe life impacting Endocrine-Immune-Biome Disruption. One could investigate epidemiology; begin to speculate avenues of initial research, possible hypotheses, reduction hierarchies, etc.  But then one would of course be falling subject to apophenia. I am so glad that we have the wisdom of Social Skepticism to protect us with critical thinking. Via critical thinking skills, I can dismiss my family chart below, along with the incumbent expenditures, and chalk it all up to imagination.  Thank you Social Skepticism for putting my mind at ease.

When Critical Thinking is Bliss.

Endocrine-Immune Disruption on my family“You’ve got a very high TSH and low free T3. I suspect you may have hypothyroidism.” So says the doctor, at my son’s collegiate junior year annual checkup. His flatmate was just diagnosed with diabetes at age 21 and has had rheumatoid arthritis since age 15. My son should feel fortunate, because hypothyroidism is the least horrid of the modern array of epidemic autoimmune disorders which now plague American society. Yes I say American society, because I have conducted medical strategies for several nations, gathering and processing enormous amounts of health data, and observing their populations’ health and diet habits first hand. Their populations do not exhibit these endemic rates of autoimmune disorder we have in the United States (although if they are shipped American foods in any significant scale, this principle is no longer correct). But what do I know? In Social Skepticism you learn quickly that in order to do real science, you must avoid asking tough questions, stay away from first hand observations, and stay out of the field. There is no data which cannot be overcome by a clever one-liner or circular recitation.

Alas, rest your mind at ease, as nothing new has occurred and nothing significant exists behind these apparent numbers. Social Skepticism possesses the antidote for anxiety-inducing observations. Critical thinking allows one to dismiss thyroid disease and the full array of autoimmune disorders plaguing your family and your nation. There is actually nothing to worry your credulous little head over. The remedy resides in an impressive sounding word, with miraculous powers to induce healing bliss.

Apophenia – /æpɵˈfniə/ is the experience of seeing patterns or connections in random or meaningless data.¹

Ignore the chart to the right here, as all is well. No need to do ‘investigations’ or become a conspiracy theorist merely because you misinterpreted meaningless data. It is meaningless of course because it was that way to begin with. I am not sure how one presupposes data to be meaningless, in absence of analytical research. But I am sure there is a license granted for just such a declaration somewhere within Social Skepticism. I bet it comes along with a cool sounding catch phrase as well.

Let me be clear here, the ramification of this set of maladies not only includes an enormous amounts of suffering inside my family, but carries an incumbent cost of anywhere from $ 55,000 – $ 100,000 depending upon which medical and lifestyle expenditures, adopted solely to mitigate the effects of these diseases, are taken into consideration.  Needless to say, the impact on our family, our society, or nation is enormous. In 1968, my family spent $ 0 on these maladies, and they mostly lived into their 90’s, relatively free of this modern array of autoimmune symptoms.

What changed?

In 1968, smack dab in the age of perchlorates, nuclear testing, DDT, acid rain, agent orange, dioxin, aluminum chlorhydrate, mercury, changing your motor oil with bare hands, fluoridated water, hexavalent chromium, runaway pollution, asbestos, and red dye #40 – in that age – NO ONE had autoimmune disorders.

Blaming Fred: Endocrine-Immune-Biome Disruption (EIBD)

Well almost no one. Fred later in 4th grade had them; the one guy in our class of 268 who had a ‘glandular problem.’ I am forgetting about Fred. Remember Fred? He was the guy who sat by himself at lunch with a specially packed meal his mom made for him; the guy who everyone teased and shunned for looking like a blimp.  He was that new fat word that we had learned in school, /oh-bees’/ with the long ‘e’ and the soft ‘s’. And if you asked a snotty socialite back then, they would let you know in no uncertain terms that Fred ate too much. They had it all figured out; bearing magic insight into his every habit and hour of the day. What I understand now, is the abject courage by which Fred and his mother lived every day of their lives. She packed his lunch with a dogged love, and a knowledge about the impact of food on her child, a knowledge which the 67% of us are just now beginning to understand. At our 20th high school reunion I could still witness the pain and recalcitrance in Fred’s eyes. Glancing momentarily into mine to ascertain the level of judgement in my eyes, and then back down to the floor, a habit of just as many decades of crushed esteem. Still standing in the corner, still alone was Fred – still judged by those who fancy not a single clue, yet know everything.

June 2017 update:

Fred died two weeks ago. His family all having passed on previously, and he living alone, his remains were cremated and dispersed. No one was there, except for the ceremonial staff.

Love is a reasoned commitment to serve – and it fades into a whisper. Where eventually it must reemerge to clash with the imperious rationality of the blessed and loud elite.  Rest in peace Fred… TES.

Peter Attia, MD contends that diabetes is caused by an underlying effect, that obesity is simply a proxy for something else going on.  He contends that we cannot afford the luxury of the glutton/lazy accusation arrogance any longer (see his excellent TedMed talk here: Our Beliefs About Obesity Diabetes and Insulin Resistance are Wrong). Well, there are clues as to what is going on, great big glaring clues, if we had the ethics to take a look at them.

Social Skepticism is just the modern grown up version of the clueless snotty social teasing and shunning of glandular problem Fred. Except, it’s not just Fred any more. It is 67% of us. Clueless pawn Social Skeptics spend every ounce of their unethical activism to keep the blame placed squarely and errantly on Fred. Well people of character are standing up and saying “No more. I want real science, not Social Skepticism.”

glandular problem“With the rapid increase in autoimmune diseases, it clearly suggests that environmental factors are at play due to the significant increase in these diseases. Genes do not change in such a short period of time,” says Virginia T. Ladd, President and Executive Director of the American Autoimmune Related Diseases Association (AARDA). She goes on to label the current state of autoimmune disease an epidemic that should be of great concern to the government and health professionals.”

Let’s call “obesity” what it really is – as you can see here, it clearly sits in a group of maladies appropriately entitled Endocrine-Immune Disruption (EID) disease:

  • Diabetes                                      28%        ’99-’09 decade growth rate

*** Food Consumption Caused or Related – ALL of THEM……

Steven Novella, contends as an activist and celebrity skeptic, that much the above stems simply from an “increase in awareness” (read that as ‘fear mongering’), fully clueless to the suffering plight of families like mine.  There is a reason for this, because his cronies have been hired to protect the food and pharma industries from the fallout which is building around EID.

“I was also taking care of diabetic and autoimmune patients.  There was a sudden merger that occurred in 2009 where I realized that what was happening under the microscope, and in my cancer patients in my clinical trials was really the same process that was happening in the diabetic patients and patients with autoimmune disease. It was all coming down to a state of chronic inflammation and dysregulation of the immune system.”

Disruption (EIBD) Caused by New Environmental Factors → Dysbiosys → Immune Defects → Metabolic Impact → Disease

Influence to Microbial to Immunity to Cancer Link Jan 2015In this chain of Endocrine-Immune-Biome Disruption resulting maladies, it is not that any one expression is skyrocketing.  The concern is over the fact that ALL of the maladies in this chain are both connected AND skyrocketing; in the last 20 years in particular. EIBD is not a disorder, as a disorder is a condition a person has or inherits as part of their individual makeup. This malady is a disruption, because really almost everyone is now experiencing it to one degree or another and its impetus comes from outside factors invalidly affecting body systems. But just what are those factors? The Social Skepticism movement has been hired to desperately block the data collection, hypothesis development, testing and peer review necessary in you finding out. Rest assured that they will do anything – anything, to perform this role. But their battle is already being lost, through the most recent advances in science. In particular, some of the advances in the causes of cancer, are shedding light into the chain reaction of maladies which occur in the human body as a result of the introduction of auto-immune inducing environmental influences.  Why is pancreatic cancer skyrocketing 5:1 in just the last 10+ years? (see: Glyphostate and Skyrocketing Pancreatic Impacts). Are we simply now getting horribly ‘unlucky’ then as of late? Institutional Medicine, in an article push and propaganda series in January 2015, errantly cited much of cancer as simply being – the luck of the draw (see: http://skepdic.com/skeptimedia/skeptimedia150.html). This graphic on the right from Science, Translational Medicine – January 2015, illustrates the latest findings, from real oncology science, as to why we should be very concerned about recent 15 – year changes in our food.‡ Inevitably the forces of health skepticism and Science Based Medicine are going to lose. Because the science is going to bypass them, and step right into the home and lives of every American family. The whole pseudoscience of ‘can’t take observations from average citizens’ is going to fall by the wayside.

People are becoming informed and upset – an no manner of shill science nor insult is going to intimidate the revolution which is about to occur

The most common and typically first Endocrine-Immune-Biome Disruption (EIBD) outcome, thyroid disease, not only represents the most prescribed-for malady experienced in the United States, but is also the fastest growing medical malady in terms of numbers of new patients each year.  Thyroid disease comes from disruption of the immune system and the production of damaging Hashimoto Antibodies. None of my relatives had this in 1968 – today fully 50% of us do, along with the full slate of autoimmune maladies.  As you can see from the first 9 top prescribed US medicinals, my family is not alone in this trend. Must simply be my imagination though, because science had been abjectly blocked from looking into the causes of this pandemic. Why, because remember the first principle we need to get crystal clear, as the science was manifestly conclusive before the diseases even arrived:

It’s not the food – It’s not the food – It’s not the food – It’s not the food – It’s not the food – It’s not the food

Bt Corn testing versus pct us consumption - CopyRepeat this over and over until you feel better. I can show you 64 media articles where various spokespersons repeat this statement over and over too, if you like. You will be guaranteed to feel much better. Lots of talk about “studies” and “science” and India growing GMO “crops” (cotton in fact, but implying that they are growing GM Food). So whatever you are observing to have happened in the last 15 years, it is a mirage, a manifestation of irrationality.  Move along. If you are concerned about our food supply, then you are anti-GMO, irrational and anti-science. It is not the food. You just inherited a strange physiology, are deluded by fringe groups, and need to exercise more and eat less; and remember, avoid your “triggers.”

Well the alarm has already sounded, because there is one chief factor which has changed commensurate with this sudden rise in EIBD related disorder and disease.  GM food alterations for compatibility to glyphosate (see: Glyphostate and GM Crops 20 Year Growth Model).

Now never mind that we conducted ALL the rat death safety studies on Bt/Stack Corn AFTER it was already released to the American public as the majority of their food supply. Never mind that Big Agra really just ran the same experiment over and over, and called that finished science. After already irreversibly tainting the entire US corn production base.  Never mind that its chief purpose was to enable broad scale expansion of the employment of Toxicant Class III glyphosate to save a little in P&L expense. Later, when

“The physiological and psychological differences between humans and rodents are so diverse that you simply cannot compare the two when determining the health impact of any food or ingredient.”

~ Corn Refiners Association response to being informed that a 2014 National Institutes of Health and National Science Foundation study had found death rates among mice consuming corn syrup, to be 1.87 times higher than control group.†

All this revelation knowledge by food producers!! Mice science is proof when it is in your favor and is pseudoscience when it is not.  Balderdash. Who needs science when you have omniscience I guess?  Just make up the answer you want then and declare it to be so.

no corn wheat or soy

Why did they test this food on rats, when we have already started pulling corn, wheat and soy from pet foods because of the observed damage to the health of pets? These are the type of questions you squelch, when you protect profits with pseudoscience.

gm food test rat survey questionsI find it interesting that in contrast to the Big Agra example with Bt/Stack Maize, Colgate, which sells a toothpaste containing 0.3% Triclosan, in their defense of the employment of the ingredient, cited several things about testing for human consumed products:

Colgate Total® is the most clinically tested toothpaste in the world. Its safety and effectiveness is supported by more than 80 scientific studies, involving 19,000 people. (http://www.colgatetotal.com/triclosan-faq)

It is clear that in the case of triclosan, Colgate not only tested the product prior to release, which Monsanto did not do with Bt/Stack Corn, but they continued to test the product by monitoring its potential subtle effects on humans. Something which the food industry has refused to do with high genetic distance foods.  The US Food and Drug Administration, further goes on regarding triclosan:

Animal studies have shown that triclosan alters hormone regulation. However, data showing effects in animals don’t always predict effects in humans. (http://www.fda.gov/ForConsumers/ConsumerUpdates/ucm205999.htm)

Well, I’ll be. Data showing effects in animals don’t always predict effects in humans.  Well in the case of Bt/Stack corn, it was presumed that Rat Deaths = 0, would equate to totally healthy human consumption. Case closed.  I guess if you brush your teeth with it and spit it back out, then that product requires intensive human monitoring.  But if you ingest it 2 to 4 times a day 7 days a week for life, then the same rat test, run over and over, after the product is already fully released to the public constitutes then sufficient science. More consumption = less diligence need. Makes total sense inside Social Skepticism, the pawn activists working for Big Agra and our Corrupt Oligarchists.

And finally, regarding Colgate toothpaste:

The most recent research includes a five-year clinical study completed in 2012, which continues to affirm the safety of Colgate Total®. Our research is shared with regulatory agencies in the United States, Australia, Canada, and Europe. (http://www.colgatetotal.com/triclosan-faq)

Colgate continues to monitor the impacts of their products on humans. Something which the food industry refuses to do. After all, Big Agra is saving money through economies of scale and ‘reducing carbon footprint’ and costs of crop production. With all this benefit I guess, there is no need to monitor human health impacts or listen to families like mine who have dramatically improved their health by completely eliminating high genetic distance foods from our household diet (with our doctor’s quiet encouragement).

Setting all that family autoimmune increase and food sensitivity stuff aside as minor, despite this you should not fear these malady and autoimmune statistics anyway, as they stand simply as a pseudo-effect of finding that for which one is looking. Observation expressed through merely an increase in the ability to diagnose, not an increase in the actual rates of the disease. You see, your family had these autoimmune disorders back in 1968, they just did not know it. After all, Man has been genetically modifying his food for 12,000 years! For this, we have another key term which again can put our mind at ease. Its remedy resides in an impressive sounding principle, with miraculous powers to induce healing bliss.

Confirmation bias – also called ‘myside bias,’ is the tendency to favor information that confirms one’s beliefs or hypotheses.³

For the armchair SSkeptic, this definition includes the corollary-base incidence where ‘my side’ happens to be synonymous with ‘my profession.’ In any other world, this would be a matter of national security.  But in the fairy tale land of magical Social Skepticism, it is no big deal. Through the magic wand of being too smart to fall for this, we can solve it all from the comfort of the study lounge chair.  Our job here is done.

Put your mind at ease. Social Skepticism has come to our rescue, and in its arms resides intellectual bliss.
