Deskeption: Conflating Science and a Favored Religion

SSkeptics depend upon you not realizing that they are combining two subjects, one supported by science and the other not, into one subject which they pass off as proved by science.  Don’t let them get away with it.

As I continue to run into more and more people who conflate evolution (variation, common ancestry and speciation) versus primordial ooze (abiogenesis), atheism (rejection of personified deities) versus metaphysical naturalism (only the material exists), achievements in medical science versus rejection of human CAM rights, and true science conclusions versus their personal religious agendas – this forever reminds me that religious persons tend to frame arguments as being a choice of only two straw man alternatives they have framed for the listener.
